MediaBias.news

Ground News charges for the thing I think should be free. So I built the free version: same story, left, centre and right, side by side.

How every side covered it

What it does

For any story, it lays out how the left, the centre and the right covered it, with every outlet listed and linked back to the original. Then it tells you what each side left out — the blindspot is usually the interesting part.

Three numbers ride along with each article. Trust looks at corroboration and evidence. Craft looks at context, balance, and whether fact is kept apart from opinion. Hype measures how far the presentation runs ahead of the substance.

Where the ratings come from

Outlet leanings come from named third-party organisations, not from me deciding who is fair. That separation is the point; the moment the site is grading on its own taste it becomes another opinion source.

Open by default

There is a free API, and an open-source agent skill so Claude or Gemini can pull the comparison directly into a conversation. I am still weighing whether to open-source the whole thing.
